INGREDIENTS
For those of you who might be curious about the specific ingredients in both of our Phage Serums and their purpose in the serum, here is a full list for your reference.
Blend of C. acnes phages
Our proprietary blend of active phages kill the bad strains of Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) bacteria on your skin. There are about 300 billion phages in every bottle of Balancing Phage Serum! It appears second on the ingredient list, after water, because phages are so tiny (hundreds can fit inside a single bacterial cell!) that when you measure each ingredient by weight, they end up weighing less than the water in the bottle, which is the medium in which it is carried. Our phage blend is the result of years of research and requires specialized production capabilities to ensure each batch has peak potency and purity.
Glycerin
A naturally derived moisturizer and humectant. That is, this compound helps to attract moisture from the air in order to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.
Sodium levulinate
A naturally derived, skin-conditioning compound that preserves the serum and helps to prevent the growth of things like mold and other bacteria not targeted by our phage.
Magnesium chloride
An all-natural mineral salt harvested from the Dead Sea that promotes Cutiphage™ stability and activity and is also used as a thickener to improve the texture of cosmetic products.
Acacia gum
A plant-derived thickening agent (harvested from Acacia trees) that helps to give Wild Resilience a smooth, even texture.
Xanthan gum
A plant-derived natural sugar that acts as a thickening agent and prevents our serum from being too watery. It also has skin conditioning and emulsifying properties.
Sodium chloride
(aka good old table salt)
A natural salt that helps to keep our Cutiphage™ stable over time.
Propanediol
A naturally derived preservative and humectant that is sustainably produced from corn sugar.
Pentylene glycol
A natural preservative derived from corncob and sugarcane that also acts as an emulsifier and humectant to help the skin attract and retain moisture.
Sodium anisate
A plant-derived preservative cultivated from star anise and basil.
Phenethyl alcohol
A compound that helps to preserve our serum and prevent growth of unwanted microbes. Unlike some alcohols you might be familiar with, this is a fatty alcohol that does not dry out your skin and is not harmful to your skin microbiome. It contains a pure, natural scent that some would describe as light and floral.
Cutiphage™
The extra special ingredient that sets Wild Resilience apart from all other skincare products on the market. Cutiphage is our proprietary blend of active phages that kill overgrown Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) bacteria on your skin to balance your microbiome. Amazingly, there are about 300 billion phages in every bottle! You may be wondering then, why it appears second on the ingredients list. This is because phages are so tiny (hundreds can fit inside a single bacterial cell!) that when you measure each ingredient by weight, they end up weighing less than the water in the bottle, which is its “room” or medium in which it is carried. Cutiphage™ is the result of years of research and requires specialized production capabilities to ensure each batch shows peak potency and strength.

At Ellis Day, we know that our customers care a lot about what they put on their skin...we do too! That’s why we’ve formulated Wild Resilience Active Phage serum to contain only clean, naturally-derived ingredients, that are good for both your skin AND for our bioactive phages that target and kill the bad bacteria on your skin. Phages are unlike any other skincare ingredient you might know. As biological particles, they are very sensitive to things like heat, pH, and stress (similar to people!). For this reason, we have carefully chosen our clean ingredients to maximize phage stability, even at room temperature, because a stable phage is a happy phage... and a happy phage can work its magic and wipe out the bad bacteria on your skin. 💫
We’ve also carefully selected our ingredients to ensure that the pH of Wild Resilience closely matches the pH of your skin. This further helps to both promote a healthy skin microbiome and discourage the growth of bad bacteria.
